After moving to a different city in 2008, I was looking for a new dentist since I had not been to a dentist in three years. I was unhappy with my smile because my front teeth were a little shorter after my previous dentist had ground them down while trying to fix a chip in my front tooth. My teeth were also somewhat discoloured. I was nervous about finding a new dentist because my teeth needed some work.
Dawson Dental happened to be nearby so I finally decided to make an appointment. the team was extremely welcoming and very pleasant. Within a short amount of time, I had my teeth cleaned and whitened, cavities were filled, two missing crowns were replaced and best of all, I had veneers placed on my front teeth.
I was extremely pleased with the final results and I'm very happy with my new smile. I cannot say enough about the outstanding team at Dawson Dental. Thank you for my new smile!

I just wanted to thank you again for making my first dental check-up in over 30 years such a pleasurable experience. I had been putting it off for a long time. I know I need to have quite a bit of dental work done, but Id had such a bad experience the last time Id visited the dentist many years ago that Id kept putting it off. Well, on the off-chance that this motivates others in a similar position to also book an appointment here is my feedback of my experience at Dawson Dental in Newmarket.

I should probably start by explaining what finally got me to book an appointment A few weeks ago Beth called me to book another regular check-up for my 18 year old daughter Ashley. This turned into a longer discussion since we both have children starting university this year, and then Beth asked me when last Id had a dental check-up. I sheepishly admitted, more than 30 years ago  and after a few minutes she persuaded me to come in for an exam.

Well today (Monday Dec 6th, 2010) I came in for the exam. After filling in a couple of double-sided forms (personal info, medical history and insurance info) I was introduced to my dental hygienist Leanne who took me to one of the rooms in the back. Leanne was very nice. I appreciated the fact that she took the time to explain up-front everything that wed be doing, and then also walked me through all the x-rays and photographs shed taken. We were then joined by Dr. Meyer who explained the next steps (  repaired some cavities first). The last hour was spent cleaning  mostly using an ultrasonic cleaner. Entirely painless.

In short, Im very impressed by how friendly/courteous everyone Id met today at Dawson Dental. They really are committed to making your visit as pleasant/comfortable as possible.
If youve been putting this off like I had then come in for an exam. You wont regret it!

I wanted to take a moment to Thank You for the courtesy and consideration extended to me at my inaugural visit to your office. In particular I am sincerely appreciative of the care and compassion you and your assistant exercised in putting me at ease. Notwithstanding the personal trauma and typical apprehension associated with the nature and scope of the services ahead of me, you respectfully acknowledged the emotion, but very patiently managed to keep the focus on the salient facts I needed to process and accept in order to formulate decisions. In addition , I genuinely appreciate that as a retiree, you recognized my financial limitations and graciously took that into consideration in determining the total fees for your services. I do not take this gesture lightly and remain truly grateful for your kindness in this regard.

Following the consultation, I was able to take the general and technical information you provided and visited a number of accredited educational websites to enhance my general knowledge with respect to endosteal mandeville endosseous implants used to support/stabilze dentures etc. It's my inquisitive nature to acquire at least a layman's understanding of how things work, particularly where they interface with the human body. I hope to learn about the integral, ongoing care knowledge necessary to prolong the effective life of any associated prosthetics prior to the procedure, so that I will understand your advice and instructions clearly.

In closing Dr. Gelfand, I just wanted to say thanks and let you know that I have a good feeling about putting my trust in you and your team to deliver an end result that will please us both. Thanks for caring.

Dawson seems to try and stay on top of the latest treatments and methods of dental care.

Everything is explained, and I am always asked if I am comfortable during any procedure.

Dr. Leung - small wait times for appts and good 'bedside' manner for nervous patients.

I feel confidenet in the care I receive, good service, clean bright enjoyable office.

I never felt anxious or nervous about my visits or felt guilted by the staff for neglecting my dental health for so long.

I love the very, very friendly team. Everyone is so efficient, and such a pleasure to see on each visit.

I feel comfortable coming there - have never been able to say that before about a dentist - options are given to me but I don't feel pushed into making decisions

I hadn't been to a dentist in 7 years when I first came to the clinic, and although my teeth were in pretty bad shape, I never felt guilted. My dentist and hygienists have always made me feel welcome and comfortable, and remember who I am!

I love my dentist and all of the team! Everyone is so friendly and takes an interest in your personally. I actually really enjoy coming to see everyone and I consider the dentist more of a friend than my dentist.

Maggie is excellent and I have lots of confidence in Dr. Gelfand.

Cosmetic dentistry was not something I ever considered until my family pointed out how self conscious I seemed of my smile. I had always been one of those people who were "afraid" of the dentist, but after much convincing I agreed to come to Dr. Gelfand for a consultation. I was amazed at how patient he was with my questions and how honest he was with his answers. He took the time to explain everything to me and the clinic staff encouraged me to call with any questions. With this introduction, I knew that I was in good hands.

It wasn't until I had this new smile that I realized how much I had hidden my crooked teeth in the past. Now, I can't stop smiling and the difference it's made to my confidence level is amazing. Now I can't imagine having never done this procedure, which was a lot simpler than I had imagined and well worth the time.

I am very grateful to you and your staff for the fantastic job you did remodeling my smile. My smile is priceless and gives me a feeling of confidence I never before experienced.

I used to hide my smile or avoid smiling. Some of my teeth hurt, many teeth were missing. I was extremely apprehensive about starting to get work done because I knew it would take a long time. I also did not look forward to having freezing put in on a regular basis.

The staff made me feel very comfortable - let me know what to expect at each visit and "cuddled" me a bit when I felt overwhelmed. Everyone took good care of me.

Now, I smile more than I have to! I don't have thought about people looking at my ugly teeth rather than listening to what I am saying. The cosmetic part of the work was well worth all the appointments!

I just got my partial plate so I'll have to get used to it - but I'm looking forward to chewing like a person instead of all at the front, like a rabbit.

When they told me I was "finished", I had a smile from ear to ear! I'll come for regular "maintenance" but my new look should last a lifetime.

It is a very difficult decision to make to change something as personal as your smile. It took me along time to make that decision. Once treatment starts, you hope that you have made the right decision. To trust someone with your face, your mouth, was a big issue for me. WOW! Was it worth it! My new smile is fabulous. After having my entire life of an unsightly smile, I decided in my 50's to do something about it. I took a chance and came to see the amazing group at Dawson Dental Centre. From the moment I walked in the door, I was impressed by the unsurpassed professionalism, but more so, by the extremely friendly, caring and supportive staff. This is the first time that I wasn't afraid to sit in the dentist chair!

About 12 years ago now, I was diagnosed with a medical condition called sleep apnea. It started with constant snoring and progressed to my stopping breathing up to 19 times an hour during sleep. Since that time, I have tried everything from CPAPs, a machine that assists in regulating breathing at night, to surgery in an effort to control this condition.

Five years ago now, I came to Dr. Gelfand, to get fitted for a dental appliance. This device allows for my bottom jaw to be moved forward slightly when the appliance is in place and increases the open-air passage during sleep. This appliance has completely stopped my snoring and has worked to stop my "stop breathing condition" to a manageable 6 times per hour.

I am 49 years old and in fairly good physical condition. For me, this device has improved my sleeping and has allowed me to lead a normal active life without the side- effects that the sleep apnea brought on.

Initially, I came to see Dr. Gelfand after having received your flyer in the mail. I had not seen my previous dentist for almost 3 years. I was very unhappy after having been with the same dentist for almost twenty years. I had lost several teeth over the years and almost never smiled. I called Dr. Gelfand and arranged for a consultation.

During the visit, Dr. Gelfand discussed several options with me and advised me of the cost and time involved with each option. He assured me that I could have a beautiful smile and would never have to be ashamed of my teeth again. The consult was done at no charge and Dr. Gelfand impressed me a great deal with his professionalism and his kindness. After several months, I have finally achieved the results I had hoped for and the results far exceeded my expectations. My sincere gratitude to Dr. Gelfand and the entire staff, who also made me feel welcome and treated me with the utmost courtesy and respect. I will be a patient at your clinic for many years to come and would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Gelfand and the entire staff.

I have been pleased with this office since the first time that I phoned to inquire about becoming a patient. I like the way that they work with my benefit provider and I appreciate the knowledgable way my inquiries about additional cosmetic work were handled.
